Prepares at a timely manner, an estimated cost with a level of detail and accuracy, for potential projects of various stages such as budget, design-build, hard bid or competitive bid.

Compensation$80,000 - $90,000 DOE and Location
Requirements- Once assigned a project, generate a Quote Folder. Refer to Estimating Folder System Procedures. Maintain good filing system practices.
- Download complete bid documents (plans, specs, gen. conditions and instruction to bidders.)
- Read and understand contract documents
- Review plans and specs for constructability issues and general requirements
- Evaluate crucial aspects of a project such as delivery and completion dates
- Organize a Pre-bid Meeting with Estimating Manager and Sales. Discuss the scope and scale of the project. Determine any conflicting issues and strategize an approach
- Assist Sales in arrangement of Request For Information (RFI) as necessary
- Collaborate with clients, contractors, architects as necessary.
- Collaborate with team members on product complexities, lead times, costs, etc.
- Logistics and Jobsite conditions (Location, staging area, access to building, floor or room, use of equipment, size of elevator, parking, Disease Outbreak Protocols, etc.)
- Labor type (Any wage, Union, Non-union, Prevailing, Davis-Bacon)
- Billing software (Textura, GC Pay)
- Scope of Work, Trade Bid Package (Inclusions, Qualifications and Exclusions)
- Certification and other requirements (Buy America, LEED, BIM, Seismic Calculations, etc.)
- Non-standard products and laboratory equipment
- Factory production lead times (in-house and buyouts)
- Extract information from floor plans or elevations to create takeoff. Cross reference MEP drawings. Save with file name with suffix “_BBTO”
- Utilize Bluebeam to accurately do a takeoff, in floor plans or elevations
- Harvest and generate parts quantities through Bluebeam
- Prepare Request for Quotes (RFQs) for vendors
- Communicate with vendors/suppliers and clarify pricing information
- Provide vendor with project information

- Quote Due Date
- Architect or GC: (This may be useful for vendors who has relationship with Arch/GC)
- Attach other relevant information such as plans, specs, schedule, phasing or photos. Such information are useful factors that may involve additional costs
- Provide instructions how quotes are presented (e.g., price breakout per floor, phase, alternates)
- Review vendor quote and vet.
- Organize vendor quotes and associated folders
- Currently in Excel, prepare estimate accurately.
- Include information from the opportunity and contract documents (Job Name, Address, Contact, Quote number, Date, Sales Tax, Labor rate)
