Network Engineer

Work Environment:
This is an on-site in person position.
- Design and deploy functional networks (LAN, WLAN, WAN)
- Configure and install various servers, network devices and services (e.g., VM's, switches, internal firewalls, VPN, QoS)
- Perform server and network maintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches, hot fixes and security configurations
- Manage and optimize in-house and cloud-based network
- Assist in the development and implementation of servers and network security, protocols, and troubleshooting network issues
- Monitor performance and ensure system availability and reliability
- Monitor system resource utilization, trending, and capacity planning
- Provide Level 2/3 support and troubleshooting to resolve issues
- Plan for and respond to service outages and other problems
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for all implemented networks
- Work within established configuration and change management policies to ensure awareness, approval and success of changes made to the network infrastructure
- Collaborate with executive team members, decision makers, and stakeholders to define business requirements and systems goals, and to identify and resolve business systems issues
- Select and implement policies and procedures in conjunction with the company's requirements
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related subject matter skill set
- 5-7 years of experience in network administration
- Professional certification (e.g. CCNP, CCDP) and Linux proficiency is a plus
- Proficient in network architecture, design, and management with a deep understanding of network protocols and security
- Proven hands-on server and network engineering experience
- Awareness of NIST and CMMC frameworks and an understanding of server/networking protocols (e.g., IP, OSPF, 802.11, QoS)
- Solid understanding of the OSI or TCP/IP model
- Hands-on experience with monitoring, network diagnostic and network analytics tools
- Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot network issues
- Ability to work collaboratively within cross-functional teams, providing technical leadership when necessary
- Able to lift, carry, and install equipment up to 50 pounds
- Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods throughout the workday
