Position Requirements
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced onsite Technical Support Specialist to join our IT team. This role is responsible for providing primary technical support to end users while maintaining and administering the organization’s IT infrastructure, including workstations, servers, networks, and business systems. The ideal candidate will troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues; install and configure systems and peripherals; and ensure reliable and secure operation of company IT resources.
This position works closely with users and operations staff to resolve helpdesk requests, maintain system performance, and support the deployment of new technology solutions in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Provide Tier 1–2 helpdesk support for desktops, laptops, printers, and peripherals.
- Monitor system performance, security, and backups to ensure availability and reliability.
- Administer user accounts, permissions, and system access.
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, network, and connectivity issues.
- Provide hands-on and remote support, guiding users through solutions in a clear manner.
- Support Active Directory, Microsoft 365 environments, and user account provisioning.
- Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Windows and macOS systems, including operating systems, applications, and updates.
- Administer and maintain network infrastructure components (LAN, Wi-Fi, VPN, switches, firewalls) and support basic network troubleshooting.
- Monitor system and network health, assist with patch management, antivirus/endpoint protection, and routine maintenance tasks.
- Assist with server operations, virtual environments (e.g., Nutanix, VMware, Hyper-V), and system backups/restores.
- Contribute to network and system documentation, standards, and diagrams.
- Train users on new systems, applications, and IT best practices.
- Additional job duties as assigned.
- Install, configure, and maintain network infrastructure including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless systems.
- Assist with IT asset management, inventory tracking, licensing, and warranty records.
- Participate in infrastructure upgrades, hardware refresh cycles, and technology deployments.
- Coordinate with vendors and external support partners for escalated issues or advanced system maintenance.
- Promote IT security best practices and assist in security monitoring and compliance activities.
- Experience:
Minimum 4 years of hands-on IT support or network /systems administration experience. - Technical
Skills:
Strong troubleshooting skills with Windows systems, networking switches (Juniper/Cisco), routers, and network concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs). - Communication:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills. - Security & Confidentiality:
Ability to handle sensitive information responsibly.
- Certifications:
CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft (MCSA, MS-CA), or equivalent. - Experience with virtualization technologies, Microsoft 365 administration, Active Directory, and cloud services.
- Familiarity with SQL databases or experience in supporting business applications and integrated systems.
- Prior support experience in a manufacturing or ERP environment.
- Minimum:
High school diploma or equivalent. - Preferred:
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
- Will occasionally/frequently stand, walk, sit, use both hands, and carry/lift to 50 lbs.
- Responsibilities sometimes require installation/lifting of heavy equipment and use of ladders.
- This is a full-time position located at our Camarillo facility, Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm. Additional hours, including possible early mornings/evenings/weekends, as required.
- We are ITAR Registered (International-Traffic-In-Arms-Regulations). Hired candidate must be a US Citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident.
$39 to $49 per hour.
