IT Systems & Technical Support Specialist
Hands-on user support, systems administration, networking, and infrastructure operations in a manufacturing environment Location 10 Minutes East of Port Hueneme & Oxnard California - fully on-site Employment Type Full-time, Benefited, 100% On-site Regular Schedule Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.

-5:00 p.m. Compensation $39-$49 per hour ($81,120 - $101,920) Industrial Sector Aerospace/Defense/Industrial Automation Hardware Company Overview Our client is an established U.S. designer and manufacturer of sophisticated electronic products used in demanding industrial and regulated applications. Its engineering, production, and business teams operate from a fast-paced manufacturing facility where dependable, secure IT systems are essential to daily operations. Position Summary The company is seeking a committed, capable IT Systems & Technical Support Specialist to join its on-site IT team.

This position provides primary technical assistance to end users while helping administer and maintain workstations, servers, networks, and business systems across the organization.
The successful candidate will troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues; install and configure systems and peripherals; work closely with users and operations personnel to resolve helpdesk requests; maintain system performance; and support the rollout of new technology solutions in a dynamic manufacturing environment. Core Responsibilities
• Install, configure, and maintain network equipment, including routers, managed switches, firewalls, and related LAN, Wi-Fi, and VPN infrastructure.

• Apply network and endpoint security controls through firewall policy administration, access control lists (ACLs), endpoint protection, and established security practices.

• Monitor network and system health and resolve hardware, software, performance, and connectivity problems involving user endpoints, servers, and infrastructure components.

• Administer user identities, permissions, authentication, and role-based access controls (RBAC) across Active Directory and Microsoft 365 environments.

• Deploy, configure, and maintain Windows systems, including operating-system imaging, application deployment, patch management, firmware updates, and security updates.

• Provide clear, responsive technical support for desktops, laptops, printers, and peripherals through both hands-on and remote support channels.

• Assist with server operations and administration of Nutanix, VMware, and Hyper-V virtual environments, including virtual-machine provisioning, resource allocation, and hypervisor maintenance.

• Create and maintain accurate network topology records, infrastructure diagrams, system configuration documentation, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).

• Perform additional duties as assigned. IT Operations & Project Support
• Support IT asset-management activities, including hardware and software inventory, license tracking, and warranty records.

• Participate in infrastructure upgrades, equipment-refresh cycles, and new technology deployments.

• Coordinate with technology vendors and external support partners when issues require escalation or specialized system maintenance.

• Promote sound information-security practices and assist with security monitoring and compliance-related activities.

Required Qualifications
• At least five years of hands-on network and systems administration experience.

• Strong working knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, and related networking concepts.

• Experience supporting Cisco, Juniper, or comparable networking hardware.

• Familiarity with Windows Server and Linux operating systems.

• Working knowledge of network-security principles and practices.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical issues clearly to end users.

• Sound judgment and discretion when handling confidential or sensitive information. Education
• Minimum requirement:
High school diploma or equivalent.

• Preferred:
Associate degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, a related discipline, or equivalent hands-on experience.

Preferred Qualifications
• Cisco CCNA, CompTIA Network+, or CompTIA Security+ certification.

• Experience with virtualization platforms, Microsoft 365 administration, Active Directory, and cloud services.

• Basic scripting experience with Power Shell or Bash.

• Familiarity with SQL databases or experience supporting business applications and integrated systems.

• Previous IT support experience within a manufacturing operation or ERP environment.
