Summary
We are seeking a detail‑oriented and innovative Operations Coordinator to join our team in advancing the science of cannabis cultivation. This position plays a key role in developing new cannabis strains, optimizing cultivation methods, and ensuring the highest quality plant production. The ideal candidate has a passion for cannabis, strong analytical skills, and hands‑on experience in plant biology, horticulture, or a related field.
Responsibilities- Use required PPE per OSHA regulations
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Strain Development:
- Assist in trialing process of cannabis genetics to develop effective strains with targeted flower, cannabinoid, terpene, and growth characteristics.
- Monitor phenotypes and record genetic stability data for pheno-hunt projects.
- Prepare reports with key data on new genetics in trial phases.
- Cultivation Research:
- Support trials to optimize growth conditions, including light cycles, nutrients, temperature, and humidity.
- Test new soil, hydroponic systems, and other cultivation media to evaluate effectiveness.
- Plant Monitoring and Data Collection:
- Monitor plant health, growth patterns, pest resistance, and yield performance.
- Collect, analyze, and document data related to experiments, including growth rates, cannabinoid profiles, and flowering cycles.
- Quality Assurance:
- Conduct regular inspections for pests, mold, and diseases, ensuring plants meet regulatory compliance and company quality standards.
- Assist with cannabinoid and terpene testing through lab analysis or third‑party testing services.
- Collaboration and Reporting:
- Collaborate with R&D and cultivation teams to implement findings into large‑scale operations.
- Prepare detailed reports on research progress, findings, and recommendations for future projects.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in horticulture, plant biology, agronomy, or a related field (preferred).
- Experience working in cannabis cultivation, greenhouse operations, or agricultural research.
- Strong understanding of plant growth cycles, genetics, and breeding techniques.
- Familiarity with cannabis strains, cannabinoids, terpenes, and cultivation best practices.
- Ability to operate cultivation equipment and monitor environmental controls.
- Proficiency in data collection and analysis using tools like Excel, Google Sheets, or cultivation software.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements for cannabis cultivation (preferred).
- Detail‑oriented with strong observational skills.
- Passionate about innovation in the cannabis industry.
- Adaptable and eager to learn in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment.
- Must be 21+ years of age
- Bilingual preferred
- Able to work independently and in a team environment
- Ability to maintain a positive attitude
- Authorized to work in the United States
- This position requires a 40‑hour minimum work week
- Must be able to write and communicate effectively with the entire team.
The employee must be able to stand for prolonged periods; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee must be able to lift, push, pull and/or move up to 15‑50 pounds.
Work EnvironmentTravel may be required between the office and the farm sites on occasion.
