Position Summary
With direct guidance in a team environment, responsible for operating one or more production machines working from blueprints, sketches, and route sheets. Contributes to lean initiatives to increase productivity and reduce costs.
Essential Functions- Applies foundational technical knowledge to interpret basic drawings, specifications, and work instructions, including edge break, surface finish, critical features, and other part requirements.
- Uses appropriate inspection tools and methods to verify workmanship and ensure parts conform to print, specification, quality, and compliance requirements.
- Performs finishing and deburring operations using buffing wheels, Dremel, and deburring hand tools to remove burrs, sharp edges, surface imperfections, and other irregularities.
- Inspects parts for finishing defects, damage, burrs, sharp edges, surface irregularities, and other nonconforming conditions before release from the department.
- Identifies out-of-specification conditions and promptly escalates concerns through established channels for review, disposition, or corrective action.
- Ensures parts meet quality expectations prior to movement to the next operation or department.
- Completes required documentation, inspection records, procedural forms, and related quality records accurately and on time.
- Follows established procedures, work instructions, and department requirements to support consistent quality and compliance.
- Maintains a clean, safe, and orderly work area in accordance with company policies and safety requirements.
- Supports continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to improve quality, efficiency, documentation accuracy, and process consistency.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 0–1 year general or related machining experience, or demonstrated ability to perform described responsibilities.
- Able to read and follow blueprints, specifications, and verbal instructions.
- Has working knowledge of machine shop mathematics, may include trigonometry.
- May be required to lift up to 35 pounds.
- Must demonstrate effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with others and be a participative team player.
- Performs other related responsibilities as requested.
This position is subject to meeting U.S. export compliance and/or U.S. Government contracting citizenship eligibility requirements.
Pay, Benefits, Work Schedule- Pay Range: $19.25/hr to $29.25/hr
