Job Description
Responsible for the mechanical assembly of electronic instruments, wiring, and cable assembly. This includes reading assembly instructions and drawings to assemble components and electromechanical parts in compliance with quality standards. Performs mechanical and precision mechanical optical assembly Reads and interprets schematic drawings, diagrams, specifications and manufacturing orders to determine component requirements and assembly instructions Inspects all parts for cleanliness and conformance to quality standards Identifies, reports, and repairs nonconforming items Cleans, assembles, disassembles, and replaces parts as required Operates drill press and hand tools to aid in assembly Receives parts for each assembly from stock room Sends assembled products to test or to quality assurance for final inspection Returns all unused parts to stock Keeps manufacturing supervisor advised of work status, workload, problems and progress as related to work assignments Updates production progress and records time using inventory management software for each process of assembly Uses chemicals, adhesives, solvents, lubricants, epoxies, paints and inks, as required Keeps manufacturing department clean and free of foreign object damage
Skills Required1+ year experience performing electronic or mechanical assembly. Able to read bill of material and work orders. Able to use hand tools. Familiar using PC Word, Excel and Outlook.
