Job Description

This position is responsible for performing production testing, basic calibration, and functional verification of electronic and fiber optic products following established test procedures. The Test Technician Level I works closely with Test Engineers and senior technicians while developing troubleshooting skills and product knowledge. This role supports manufacturing by ensuring products meet quality standards before shipment.

Performs visual inspections of populated and unpopulated PCBs prior to testing. Performs board‑level testing, including firmware loading, functional verification, and basic troubleshooting following established test procedures. Uses electronic test equipment including digital multimeters, power supplies, oscilloscopes, and other production test equipment to verify product performance.

Maintains accurate records of test results and reports findings to Manufacturing, Engineering, and Quality as required. Assists with root‑cause investigations of recurring product failures when requested. Troubleshoots, repairs, and calibrates production units under established procedures and with guidance from senior technicians when required. Performs mechanical and precision mechanical‑optical assembly as needed to support production. Reads and interprets BOMs, work instructions, manufacturing orders, assembly drawings, and basic electronic schematics.

Performs inspections to verify that products conform to quality standards. Identifies, documents, and reports nonconforming products or recurring process issues. Updates production routing and test transactions within the ERP system. Learns products, test procedures, calibration methods, and troubleshooting techniques under the guidance of senior technicians and Test Engineers. Keeps the test area organized and free from foreign object damage (FOD).

Performs other duties as assigned.

Skills Required

HS Diploma or GED. Experience in electronic assembly, electromechanical assembly, PCBA, manufacturing or product testing. Basic knowledge of electronic measurement and troubleshooting. Able to read BOMs and schematics.

Skills Preferred

Associate degree in Electronics or related field preferred but not required. Knowledge of electronic workmanship standards such as IPC‑A‑610 or equivalent preferred.
