CNC Machine Setup Technician

Key Responsibilities- Set up and optimize CNC machining operations for production runs.
- Assist the Machine Shop Manager and programmers with machine setups and job execution.
- Operate and set up vertical and horizontal machining centers.
- Machine castings and billet ("hog-out") components to customer specifications.
- Work closely with the Quality Control team to ensure parts meet all engineering and customer requirements.
- Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T specifications.
- Troubleshoot machining issues and recommend process improvements.
- Communicate with engineering, production, and supervisory staff regarding technical requirements.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Experience with HAAS CNC machines.
- CNC programming knowledge.
- CAM software experience.
- Fixture design and fabrication.
- Experience with lathes.
- Knowledge of AS9100 quality standards.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of 3 years of CNC machine setup experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with vertical and horizontal machining centers.
- Strong understanding of machining processes, tooling, and setup procedures.
- Proficient with precision measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers.
- Basic computer skills.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills.
- Adaptability in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

This position is performed in a manufacturing facility with exposure to CNC equipment, moving machinery, machine coolant, airborne particles, and moderate to high noise levels. Temperatures may range from approximately 60°F to 90°F depending on the season and production demands. Personal protective equipment (PPE) is required at all times.
Physical Requirements- Stand for extended periods throughout the shift.
- Lift and carry materials weighing up to 40 pounds occasionally.
- Safely work around machinery while following all safety procedures and PPE requirements.
