Visual Inspector - Lapping​/Polishing Machine Operator; 2nd Shift

Johanson Technology Inc. (JTI) is looking for a Visual Inspector (Thin Film Operator II – Lapping Machine Operator) will be responsible for visual inspection capacitors, substrates, and custom parts.

Hourly Rate (Non-Exempt): $19.00 - $19.75/per hour (DOE) + $.75 Shift Differential

Work Schedule (Monday-Friday): 3:30 p.m. – 12:00 a.m.,

Training

Schedule:

7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. (up to 4 weeks)

• High school diploma or GED
• At least six (6) months of microscope experience
• Experience in a manufacturing/production environment
• Basic computer skills
• Basic math skills
• Good verbal and written communication skills

• Previous experience as a visual inspector
• Experience using tweezer to inspect minuscule parts

• Machine Lapping and Polishing.
• Data entry using Microsoft Excel.
• Micrometer and drop gauge usage.
• Will handle and transport various materials such as alumina oxide/polishing powders, solvents, wax adhesives.
• Maintain 100% measurement accuracy while performing thickness verification.
• Visual inspection of parts one by one under a microscope to remove defective parts that do not meet specified criteria.
• Packing products using microscope, tweezers, and gloves.

• Use of microscope for visual inspection up to 80% of shift.
• Standing/Walking up to 70% of shift; sitting up to 30%
• Twisting of neck and waist up to 40% shift
• Stoop and bend, reaching above shoulder, and simple hand grasping up to 50% shift.
• Fine hand manipulation up to 50% of shift
• Lift, push, pull and/or move up to 50 lbs. for 50% of shift
• Will occasionally work in fast paced environment and demonstrate adaptability
• Must understand and follow a set of clear verbal and/or written procedures without deviation.
• Must adhere to a provided work schedule to meet a set of qualitative production standards.
