Quality Engineer

Eaton's Aerospace Interconnect division is currently seeking a Quality Engineer.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $82,000 - $105,000 a year. Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

This role requires working on-site M-F at our Camarillo, CA location. Relocation assistance is not available for this role.

What You'll Do:

The primary function of this role is to develop, apply, revise, and maintain quality standards for flow-down of customer requirements, engineering product key characteristics, and assurance of in-process, final test requirements, and shipping / receiving inspection processes. Reviews customer/industry/internal specifications to ensure compliance with stated requirements. Provides technical support to program management, operations, customers, and suppliers.

Essential functions include completing quality engineering assignments with minimal supervision, developing, communicating, or training, and ensuring adherence to quality standards, product specifications, work instructions and procedures across a multifunctional manufacturing organization, leading and/or providing technical advice and feedback to the engineering & program management teams assigned to continuous improvement and problem solving, working in partnership with design and manufacturing engineering to support all development projects and milestones to achieve zero-defect quality and launch readiness, assuring that product shipped meets internal and external customer requirements, leading corrective action process using 8D, 5 Why, A3, and lean tools, acting as an organizational contact for customer quality concerns and ensuring appropriate corrective actions are deployed, evaluating, communicating, and rectifying in-process rejections, obtaining disposition and implementing containment, corrective and preventative action to ensure product performance and specification attainment, formulating and implementing quality assurance procedures, policies, and standards, communicating quality issues to integrated product team (IPT), front line leaders and factory personnel and leading root cause and permanent corrective action documentation, directing the disposition and analysis of returned material and internal non-conforming product, ensuring that actions around top pareto items are identified and completed, manifesting a quality culture in all activities through quality management system activities and regular audits including Eaton QMS implementation, ISO 9001 audits and related activities, and employee engagement events, reviewing supplier FAI submissions, including control plans and assisting with FAI and control plan creation where necessary, working with design engineering and supply chain to ensure that quality criteria are identified on all newly established parts, and quality requirements are communicated to suppliers, responsible for generating end item data package (EIDP) that meets customer requirements for each shipment, setting up a data repository for all documentation to ensure efficient gathering of required documents, developing and training to the procedure used for preparing EIDP's, and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Basic qualifications include a bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited educational institution, minimum 2 years of engineering or manufacturing engineering experience in an assembly manufacturing environment, quality system knowledge (e.g. AS9100, ISO 9001, TS16949), legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future, this position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).

Only candidates residing within 50 miles of Camarillo, CA will be considered for this position.

Preferred qualifications include ability to read and understand blueprints, specifications, and requirements, experience in performing quality audits, usable skills with MS Office software, six sigma greenbelt or blackbelt certification, ASQ certified quality engineer (CQE) or certified quality auditor (CQA), and familiar with MIL-STD's and NASA requirements.
