Eaton’s IS AER ITD division is currently seeking an InspectorIII. The hourly rate for this position ranges from $29.00 to $36.00 per hour. The hours for this shift are 6:00am – 2:30pm.
Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
What you’ll do:- Perform and verify visual, dimensional, electrical, mechanical, environmental and chemical inspection functions relating to source, first article, receiving, in‑process, final and test operations using company or customer supplied drawings, equipment and/or procedures.
- Review and approve inspection/test data.
- Read and interpret mechanical/electrical drawings and procedures.
- Inspect incoming and/or in‑process parts – closed tolerance aerospace precision machined components and/or assemblies visually and dimensionally for conformance to manufacturing drawings, quality control specifications and supplier/customer requirements.
- Perform other duties as part of cross‑training or employee development plans.
- Review and accept paperwork and documentation used in the acceptance of product.
- Produce necessary manual or computer‑generated inspection reports to accept or reject products.
- Use precision measurement equipment such as calipers, micrometers, pin gauges, thread plugs, thread ring gauges, thread gauges, surface plates, spring tester, optical comparator, and CMM.
- Apply in‑depth understanding of geometrical tolerancing and dimensional measurements per ASMEY
14.5. - Perform inspection on surface plates using complex inspection layouts.
- Operate Coordinate Measuring Machines during inspections (or have strong working knowledge of CMM capability).
- Witness and/or perform dimensional inspection on highly complex closed‑tolerance machined components and tooling at suppliers (source inspection).
- Maintain inspection records in accordance with company procedures.
- Generate and assist in the corrective/preventive action process.
Basic (Required) Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
- Minimum one year of CMM experience.
- Minimum five years of related experience in mechanical inspection of highly complex, close‑tolerance aerospace products.
- Will not consider applicants for immigration sponsorship or support for this position.
- Only candidates residing within 50miles of Camarillo, CA will be considered.
- Position requires access to export‑controlled information. Applicant must be a U.S. person as defined by U.S. Government regulations.
- Experience with nondestructive inspection and imaging techniques such as CT scanning and X‑ray/radiographic imaging.
- Hands‑on repair and maintenance skills.
- Ability to work in plumbing, electrical, and industrial building environments in a high‑precision manufacturing setting.
- Physical strength and dexterity to lift, move and handle equipment.
- Construction skills: carpentry, painting, plumbing, welding.
- Knowledge or experience inspecting various materials such as aluminum, alloy, titanium, stainless steel, etc.
- Knowledge or experience inspecting aerospace products with coatings (anodizing, cadmium plating, chromium plating, nickel plating, zinc plating, passivation, etc.).
- College or ASQ (American Society for Quality) certification is a plus.
- Experience working in an FAA environment and basic knowledge of DFAR and Nadcap requirements.
