Title Examiner Job Summary
- Responsible for researching, reviewing, and analyzing real estate records to determine legal ownership
- Identify issues that may affect property titles
- Ensure title documents are accurate, clear, and compliant with applicable laws
- Support smooth and timely real estate transactions
- Examine public records, deeds, mortgages, liens, judgments, and maps to verify property ownership
- Identify restrictions, easements, encumbrances, and title defects
- Prepare detailed title reports and summaries for real estate closings
- Work with title officers, attorneys, lenders, and other stakeholders to resolve title issues
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations
- Maintain accurate and organized documentation of title research
- Communicate findings and status updates clearly with internal teams and clients
- Minimum of 5 years' experience at a title insurance company
- Experience in title examination, title research, or related real estate field preferred
- Strong knowledge of property law, real estate transactions, and legal terminology
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Proficiency with title software systems and public record databases
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines
