Senior Embedded Software Engineer

Lucix Corporation, a subsidiary of HEICO’s Electronic Technologies Group, is a world leader in RF Active and Passive Units, Subsystems, and Assemblies for Commercial, Civil and Defense Satellite Payloads. Lucix also provides RF hardware for Airborne and Ground Systems, all designed, qualified, manufactured, tested, and shipped from our California, USA facilities.

We are seeking an experienced Senior Embedded Software Engineer to develop and verify complex digital designs for use in spaceborne products across our commercial and defense programs. The role requires a self‑starter, team player who can take ownership of a project from design to deployment under a rapid pace.

• Design, implement, and verify embedded software and related digital designs in system‑on‑chip (SOC) devices as part of Lucix products.
• Interface with senior engineers to implement communication protocols, data handling, and system management in an embedded ARM Cortex processor environment.
• Perform trade studies to identify functions that can be purchased as third‑party intellectual property versus internal development.
• Assist in creating embedded architecture, perform trade studies to determine which functions should be executed within the embedded processor, which should be implemented in programmable logic fabric, and how to interface between the two domains.
• Maintain the code base in the company’s version control system.
• Develop software and hardware test fixtures to verify the functionality of the embedded code and the overall system.
• Perform bench‑level verification of the implemented code in the final system and assist with testing of the overall product.

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or computer science.
• Expertise with embedded software design for ARM Cortex or similar systems.

• Experience with embedded Linux development.
• Strong knowledge of implementing UDP/IP networking over Ethernet interface.
• Experience with the AMD/Xilinx family of devices and tools, including Vivado and Vitis.
• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Windows OS, Microsoft Excel.
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• 5+ years of relevant industry experience.
• Experience designing high‑sample‑rate communication and/or signal‑processing systems in embedded devices.
• Experience with revision control tools such as Git, Mercurial.
• Knowledge of digital design using the VHDL language.
• Knowledge of sampling theory, digital signal processing, and spectral analysis.
• Proficiency with MATLAB software.
