Catholic 5th Grade Teacher

Overview

Regina Caeli Academy is seeking a part-time 5th grade teacher to teach in a classical and Catholic classroom for 13-14 hours per week at our center in Camas, WA. Training and classes begin in August 2026.

• Teach all subjects in a self-contained 5th grade class.
• Assist or lead 1-2 specials (art, music, PE, and drama).
• Prepare lesson plans and curriculum; come to class prepared to teach in a highly structured environment.
• Potential to shadow the current teacher prior to taking over, depending on hire date.
• Complete training and background checks as required by RCA and Safe Child policies.

• Experience with homeschooling or working with homeschool children, ministry in a Catholic parish, teaching Religious Education or Catechism, teaching your own children, or experience in a classical or private school is helpful but not required.
• No teaching certification or formal teaching experience required; RCA will train you.
• Must be able to sign an Oath of Fidelity to the Catholic Church and demonstrate a deep love for the Catholic faith.
• Strong communication, organization, timeliness, and adherence to RCA standards; living the Catholic faith day-to-day including having received the sacraments appropriate to state in life.
• Background check and RCA Safe Child training prior to teaching;
  Safe and Sacred training through the diocese (assistance provided if not completed).

• Hours:
  
  Mondays and Thursdays, 8:45am–3:15pm.
• Position is hourly; complimentary childcare/nursery is provided.
• Curriculum and lesson plans provided; three mandatory training days on August 11–13, 2026.
• There are no personal or vacation days; sick days are available; all staff are expected to be at the center for RCA days.
