The Public Works Department is seeking to fill a Facilities Operations Specialist with journeyperson level experience in plumbing.
The hours for this position are normally Monday-Friday 7 a.m.
-3:30 p.m.. This position is represented by the AFSCME Local 307-CC bargaining unit and is eligible for a full benefits package.
The individual selected for this position will participate in a full range of duties related to the maintenance of City facilities (flooring, drywall, carpentry, etc.) with a focus on plumbing work.
- Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade supplemented by specialized training in plumbing.
- Four years of increasingly responsible experience in journeyperson level plumbing.
- Experience and training equivalent at the amounts required for a Journeyperson or Washington State license in plumbing.
- Possession of First Aid and CPR certification or ability to obtain within six months.
- Possession of Class A Commercial driver’s license, or ability to obtain within six months.
- Possession of a valid flagging card or ability to obtain within six months.
- Certificates issued by the state to operate as a plumber at a journeyperson level.
In addition to the job description requirements, the preferred candidate will possess the following attributes: positive attitude, ability to take initiative, excellent customer service skills, good verbal and written communication skills, demonstrated organizational and decision-making skills and flexibility to work non-standard hours as needed.
