As a Heavy Duty Mechanic, you will troubleshoot, diagnose and repair a wide range of Caterpillar equipment, leveraging your technical knowledge to build trust and solve challenges – keeping equipment moving and minimizing downtime.

Your work will include:

• Troubleshoot, repair and maintain mining equipment
• Respond to customer needs in a positive, supportive, and timely manner to ensure maximum value for work performed.
• Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment to determine extent of repair required.
• Providing support with reference to on‑site safety requirements.
• Maintain Finning Customer Service Commitment.

• Interprovincial Red Seal Heavy Duty Equipment Certification.
• 5+ years experience troubleshooting, repairing, and performing maintenance on the following (but not limited to) equipment: D6‑D8 Dozers, Track‑Hoes, Articulated Rock Trucks, 775‑777 Haul Trucks, Graders, Generators, Loaders, Drills & Shovels.
• Clean Drivers’ Abstract (5 yr).
• Strong experience in Electrical, Hydraulic and Emissions systems.
• Engine and/or component rebuilding experience would be beneficial.
• Transmission or Hydraulic testing experience.

• 12 Hours per Day
• 21 x 21 Continuous Day Shift / Night Shift Rotation (21 Days/21 Off/21 Nights)
• Travel Assistance to get to marshalling point (tax free) up to $1,200 per rotation (to cover associated costs of getting to marshalling point)
• Customer flights provided from Edmonton or Yellowknife.
• Customer Camp provided.
