What You'll Do Here:
Overall responsibility for the closing and submission of bids and/or proposals (e.g. commercial terms, execution strategy, schedule, etc.)Assigns resources (e.g. estimators and support personnel) to produce the required bid/proposal deliverables in an orderly mannerResponsible for recommendations to management on how best to proceed with bid/proposal requestIn conjunction with management, develops strategic and competitive approachesEngagement of legal team to confirm that the contract accurately reflects the Aecon bid/proposal. Identify risks and ensure necessary precautions are implemented to manage exposureLeads all bid/proposal meetingsEngagement of any Third Parties necessary to support Aecon’s bid/proposalReview and assess estimates and resource requirements developed by discipline estimatorsManage and coordinate input from partnersOversee document management throughout the bid processCollect and assemble technical, commercial and required marketing documentsCoordinate with Aecon departments to develop critical proposal material (where applicable)Summarize and present as necessary the proposal and estimate details to senior management to obtain required approvals (e.g. CRC, PRC, Board of Directors, etc.)Develop formal presentations of proposals, upon being short-listed and called in to present directly to the clientParticipate in P3 Industry forums, conferences, and functions where appropriateDevelop and maintain positive relationships with clients, consultants, partners and subcontractorsTrain, mentor, and develop the bid/proposal teamTravel as required to work with JV partners to develop and close bid/proposal submissionsPresent all relevant documentation required for Project Handover and participate in handover processCommunicate immanent award to other Aecon divisions that assisted with the proposal or were carried in the estimateWhat you’ll bring to the team:
Minimum 7-10 years of experience in the construction industryUniversity Degree, College Diploma or Trades Background– or equivalent experienceP.Eng or C.E.T designation considered an assetThorough understanding of construction methodologies and practicesStrong estimating background with capital projectsExperience managing large Fixed Price projectsExceptional organizational and leadership skillsStrong communication skills, both oral and writtenGood understanding of collective agreements and experience working with trade unionsStrong computer skills – MS Excel / Word / Project, P6 and estimating software.Ensure you have or are able to obtain required security clearancesSalary range - $110,000 - $150,000 per annum
Individual pay is determined based on several factors, including work location, education, experience, unique skills and job conditions. Other considersations may include certifications, specialized training, and the complexity or scope of the role.
