As healthcare continues to evolve, CMH is seeking an accomplished and forward-thinking Director, Finance to join our senior leadership team. As healthcare funding models evolve and system pressures increase, CMH is seeking a strategic and forward-thinking Director, Finance to play a critical leadership role in ensuring the organization’s long-term financial sustainability and operational excellence. This is a high-impact opportunity to serve as a trusted financial advisor to the Executive Team and Board Committees while leading a dedicated finance team in delivering robust financial stewardship in a complex healthcare environment
THE OPPORTUNITY
Reporting to the Vice President, Corporate Services & Chief Financial Officer the Director, Finance provides enterprise-wide leadership and oversight of the hospital’s financial operations, planning, reporting, treasury, and internal control environment.
Working at the intersection of finance, operations, and strategy, the Director will help guide the organization through evolving funding models, growth opportunities, capital investments, and system transformation initiatives.
The Director is responsible for advancing financial strategy, strengthening fiscal stewardship, optimizing funding opportunities, and ensuring regulatory compliance, while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. As a key leader, the Director partners closely with clinical and operational leaders to align financial planning with organizational priorities. This role extends far beyond traditional financial oversight.
The Director is a trusted advisor and business partner who helps shape organizational strategy, supports critical decision-making, identifies opportunities for innovation and efficiency, and ensures CMH remains well-positioned to thrive in an increasingly complex healthcare environment.
As Director, Finance, you will drive strategic decision-making through:
Providing financial leadership and insight to the Executive Team, Directors' Council, and Board Committees, ensuring leaders have the information and analysis needed to make confident, informed decisions.
Leading long-range financial planning, capital planning, and sustainability strategies that support CMH's vision for growth and excellence.
Navigating evolving provincial funding models and healthcare priorities while identifying opportunities to optimize resources and strengthen organizational performance.
Developing and mentoring an engaged, talented finance team while fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning.
Collaborating closely with clinical and operational leaders, the CMH Foundation, and community partners to support strategic initiatives, business cases, capital investments, and service enhancements.
IDEAL CANDIDATE
A senior leader with passion for healthcare and community impact.
Strong experience in hospitals with a minimum of 7–10 years of progressive financial experience navigating complexity and driving meaningful change.
Experience working within a publicly funded environment and familiarity with Ministry of Health reporting requirements.
