Description
You are a Horizontal Directional Driller with experience supporting utility maintenance and construction. Your expertise in telecommunications enables you to complete utility construction and maintenance projects safely and efficiently, and you are available to travel as needed to support project demands.

Essential Responsibilities

Perform box locating, directional drilling, installation of conduits for various cables, installation of pedestals and concrete bases, flush mount vaults and enclosures.

Safely operate directional drilling equipment and locating tools.

Travel to various sites within and outside Ontario may be required, based on company operational needs.

Coordinate drilling activities with other activities, positioning or moving loads, and respond to hand or audio signals from team members.

Ensure health and safety is the number one goal by following policies, CVOR guidelines, and always acting in a safe manner.

Complete all required paperwork daily.

Handle and distribute construction materials, loads and unload vehicles with supplies and equipment, and remove all debris from work sites.

Qualifications

Previous directional drilling/locating experience.

Previous experience in telecommunications is an asset.

Must have and maintain a valid AZ driver’s license.

Must have and maintain a clean driver’s abstract and CVOR.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Ability and willingness to travel to multiple locations, including out-of-province sites, in alignment with operational requirements.

Work Conditions

Able to meet the physical requirements of the position: sitting, standing, bending, climbing, lifting (up to 50 pounds), working at heights, in confined spaces and in all types of weather conditions (rain, snow, heat etc.).

Compensation
$37.06 - $46.16 per hour. This is the applicable wage range for this position. Individuals will be assigned a base wage within this range based on trade certification and/or apprenticeship level, industry experience, and work location.

Remote, site-based positions may be eligible for additional incentives including but not limited to travel and accommodation allowances.
