Join the City of Cambridge as a Water Meter Technician, performing essential tasks like water meter reading and repair. Bring your skills in maintenance and customer interaction to contribute to our community.
This position is vital within the Environmental Services Division, reporting to the Supervisor of Metering and Compliance. Candidates will use their expertise in water metering, including tasks involving repairs, replacements, and investigations of billing errors. A strong understanding of communications protocols and programming for various meter styles is crucial.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct meter readings and repairs independently
• Assist in maintenance of larger meters with an Industrial Plumber
• Perform meter investigations and troubleshoot issues
• Interact with residential customers regarding meters
• Accurately record specifications in the database
Requirements:
• 1 to 2 years of relevant experience
• Grade 12 Diploma with additional meter training
• Valid “G” License in good standing
• First Aid CPR AED certification
• Confined space training and physical capability
