Production Supervisor, Manufacturing

Position Summary

The Production Supervisor leads the daily manufacturing operations in a complex machining manufacturing environment, ensuring safety, quality, volume, and cost goals are met. They plan and assign work, implement policies and procedures, and continually recommend improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures, and working conditions. The role includes hiring, promotion, disciplinary recommendations, performance evaluation, and feedback for direct reports while ensuring all safety procedures are followed and metrics achieved.

The supervisor investigates and resolves production problems and manages production line maintenance or downtime to minimize schedule disruption.

Salary Range: 70k - 85k

Start Date: April 1, 2026

Schedule: Onsite, Monday - Friday 7am - 4:00pm

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise manufacturing operations for a variety of machine tools and assembly operations, coordinating production schedules and resource deployment.
  • Plan, schedule, and coordinate departmental activities to fulfill sales orders, meet inventory requirements, and deliver products on time.
  • Supervise hiring, retention, performance review, and discipline of all assigned employees.
  • Manage department priorities, track absenteeism and timekeeping.
  • Ensure effective employee relations, provide coaching and development, and resolve employee issues through problem resolution.
  • Balance, achieve positive results, and continuously improve safety, quality, delivery, productivity, cost, and employee relations.
  • Manage departmental performance measures, including visual controls, and provide regular progress reports to management.
  • Perform accident/incident root cause investigations and implement actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Lead and facilitate VOC quality discrepancy root cause investigations using 5 Why's, DMAIC, or other lean tools and implement actions to prevent recurrence.

  • Efficiently manage tasks and deadlines to ensure productivity and meet goals with minimal supervision.
  • High level of computer proficiency for creating reports, data visualization, and effective information presentation.
  • Strong abilities in building, leading, and fostering teamwork for collaborative goal attainment.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills for clear and effective information conveyance.
  • Organizational and planning abilities for efficient task management, prioritization, and goal-oriented execution.
  • Self-motivated initiative and a proactive mindset to identify and pursue opportunities for growth.
  • Data-informed decision-making using analytical skills to gather, analyze, and interpret information for informed choices.

Education and Experience Requirements

  • 3-5 years of supervisory experience in manufacturing.
  • Supervisory experience in a machining and fabrication environment with high mix preferred.
