Description

The Welder is responsible for performing setup on all entry-level welding components that range from similar to dissimilar metals and alloys requiring a high degree of skill and welding technique or involving a considerable number of parts and/or smaller more complicated weldments where alignment, dimensions, and weld quality must conform to strict quality standards.

Schedule & Compensation

Day Shift: Monday - Thursday (5:00am - 3:30pm), Fridays off.

Compensation: $20–$24/hr.

Responsibilities
  • Tig welding 90% and mig welding 10% using multiple types of materials (steel, galvanized, and a range of stainless). Welding teams of two Associates per project.
  • Properly set up welding machines.
  • Preparation before welding: 70% consists of ripping and trimming various specs of wire belts.
  • Clean welds to check for imperfections.
  • Accuracy with alignment, dimensions, materials, number of components, and general inspection requirements of metal chain drive belts.
  • Accurate interpretation of work orders and collaboration with co-workers and QA associates.
  • Work within the parameters of an estimate and work order.
  • Wire crimping and machine operating. Training will be provided.
Qualifications
  • One-year certificate from college or technical school, or three to six months of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Valid certificate in welding from an accredited institution is preferred but not required.
  • Ability to understand and follow written and verbal work instructions, read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to speak effectively and present information in small groups of fellow Associates.
  • Reasoning ability: apply common sense to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form and deal with problems.
  • Ability to use measurement tools such as a tape measure, occasionally a dial caliper, and welding and torch equipment.
  • Attention to all safety policies, programs, and practices is a must.
  • Basic computer skills needed for reviewing and performing shop orders.
Physical Requirements
  • Must frequently walk, stand, bend, and twist; see, hear, talk; use fingers and hands with good dexterity to handle or feel controls or products; use hands and arms to reach, hold, and carry products.
  • Lifting/moving up to 50 lbs.
