Material Handler – Overview
Material Handler Summary:
Supports conveying, fabrication, and sprocket manufacturing by keeping materials stocked, removing scrap and trash, and maintaining efficient production flow.
Schedule: Monday – Thursday
Hours:
5:00AM-3:30PM
Hourly Range: $20 - $22/hour.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver raw materials, components, and consumables to workstations.
- Remove scrap metal, trash, empty bins, and packaging waste from all departments.
- Move WIP and finished parts between fabrication, machining, assembly, and shipping.
- Replenish welding wire, hardware, grinding discs, lubricants, and packaging supplies.
- Maintain point‑of‑use inventory and communicate shortages.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, carts, and overhead cranes safely.
- Support 6S and maintain clean, organized work areas.
- Manufacturing or material handling experience preferred.
- Ability to lift 40–50 lbs and walk/stand for extended periods.
- Forklift and/or crane certification (or ability to become certified).
- Strong safety awareness and communication skills.
- Ability to work in fast-paced production areas and prioritize material needs.
- Basic understanding of fabrication, machining, or assembly is a plus.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1–3 years warehouse experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and up to 25 lbs. frequently to constantly, work in a shop/production environment.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing or 6S practices.
- Must be able to constantly stand or sit for long periods of time as necessary in the work area.
