Summary

This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP) – a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program approval (award amount up to $200,000 and eligibility period of one to five years) is determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application.

Former EDRP participants are ineligible.

Duties
  • Independently manages a panel of patients with acute and chronic health conditions with an emphasis on health promotion and disease prevention using evidence‑based practice.
  • Provides gender‑specific care to women Veterans, including well‑woman examinations, breast exams for breast cancer screening, Pap smears for cervical cancer screening, and other women’s health care within primary care of women.
  • Develops and implements an individualized plan to achieve optimal population health and disease management.
  • Demonstrates leadership and works collaboratively with the Primary Care Team and other interdisciplinary team members.
  • Orders and interprets labs, tests, and diagnostic studies.
  • Prescribes pharmacologic and non‑pharmacologic interventions.
  • Initiates referrals and consults to specialty services.
  • Provides education to patients and their families.
  • Assesses and adjusts the plan of care as needed to achieve optimal patient outcomes.

Compensation & Benefits
  • VA offers a comprehensive total rewards package: VA Nurse Total Rewards Pay includes competitive salary, regular salary increases, and potential for performance awards; paid time off includes 50 days per year (26 days annual leave, 13 days sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays); retirement includes a traditional federal pension (5‑year vesting) and federal 401(k) with up to 5 % contributions by VA;

Licensure
  • Full and unrestricted license from any US State or territory.
Schedule

Monday‑Friday, 8 am – 4:30 pm.

Telework

Available ad hoc at supervisory discretion; this position is not virtual.
