About this positionWe are seeking an experienced Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to provide initial and follow-up psychiatric consults in select assisted living and skilled nursing facilities.
Position descriptionThe successful candidate will perform initial and follow-up psychiatric consults for residents in assisted living and skilled nursing facilities. Daily patient encounters range from 11 to 16, depending on the mix of initial and follow‑up services. Clinical documentation is minimal and limited to one‑page progress notes; there is no need for H&P’s, discharge summaries, treatment plans, or treatment team meetings. All clinicians follow a streamlined workflow and participate in a telephone‑based on‑call schedule consisting of about one weeknight per week and less than one weekend per month.
The schedule is flexible, providing autonomy while ensuring support from three supervising psychiatrists.
Experience prescribing and monitoring psychotropic medications is very strongly preferred, but the ideal candidate will be willing to undergo training. PMHNP certification is required in Pennsylvania and is ideal in New Jersey (familial & geriatric certifications acceptable in New Jersey).
Compensation- Full‑time salary starting at $130,000+, with annual increases, productivity bonuses, and the option of full health benefits and a retirement plan.
- Annual paid time off: 4 weeks PTO, 3 CME days with stipend, reimbursement for license renewals, and national holidays off.
- MD APRN license, MD DEA, AANP certification (PMHNP required).
- Active and unrestricted license.
- Effective oral and written communication in English.
- Basic proficiency with technology, including electronic health records (EHR).
- Strong organizational and documentation skills with attention to regulatory compliance.
- Ability to provide in‑person services at assigned facilities.
- Ability to walk, stand, and move between patient rooms and offices within the facility throughout the day.
