The main purpose of this full-time contractual position is to provide comprehensive school nursing services to students and staff of Dorchester County Public Schools.
Key Duties- Medication administration
- Skilled nursing treatments
- Age appropriate health screenings
- Assessment and care of the sick or injured
- Health record maintenance
- Immunization reviews
- Case management of chronic health concerns
- Care plan development
- Multidisciplinary team participation
Education:
Determined by the Maryland State Board of Nursing under the licensing requirements for Registered Nurse.
Experience:
None.
1. Candidates must possess a current license as a Registered Nurse from the Maryland State Board of Nursing.
2. Employees may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties must possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland.
Special RequirementsEmployees must be able to provide a telephone number at which they can be reached.
BenefitsContractual employees who work 30 or more hours a week (or an average of 130 hours per month) may be eligible for subsidized health benefits coverage for themselves and their dependents. As a contractual employee, you will be responsible for paying 25% of the premiums for your medical and prescription coverage. The State of Maryland will subsidize the remaining 75% of the cost.
You can also elect to enroll in dental coverage, accidental death and dismemberment insurance, and life insurance, but you will be responsible to pay the full premium for these benefits.
Leave may be granted to a contractual employee at a rate of one hour for every 30 hours worked, not to exceed 40 hours per calendar year.
