Petroleum Delivery Driver
The Petroleum Delivery Driver is responsible for safely operating a propane delivery vehicle and ensuring on-time, safe deliveries to customer locations under all weather conditions.
Duties & Responsibilities- Safely operate a propane delivery vehicle to customer locations.
- Drive in all weather and driving conditions.
- Achieve delivery objectives set by the local District Manager.
- Inspect the vehicle daily and report any problems per company policy and DOT regulations.
- Maintain a positive and enthusiastic attitude toward safety, sales, customer service, and teamwork.
- Assist with sales initiatives and respond to customer inquiries.
- Engage with customers to provide exceptional service and gather feedback.
- Perform additional duties as assigned, including yard and plant maintenance.
- Participate in on‑call rotations for after‑hours and weekend emergency deliveries.
- Valid CDL with Hazmat and tanker endorsements.
- Minimum 2‑year driving experience.
- Ability to pass a pre‑employment DOT physical, drug test, and Homeland Security background check.
- Physically capable of lifting 40–60 pounds.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Good interpersonal skills and willingness to take direction from the plant manager.
- Flexibility to work outside the basic job description.
The position requires driving a company vehicle in the field, entering customers’ homes or businesses, and working in hot attics or cold places. Employees may be exposed to confined work spaces, fumes, moving mechanical parts, and vibration, and must remain alert to extreme weather conditions.
Qualifications- High school diploma or equivalent.
- High level of safety awareness and customer‑service orientation.
- Valid CDL with Hazmat and tanker endorsements.
- Minimum 2‑year CDL license.
- Physical fitness to lift 40–60 pounds regularly.
- Loads, secures, transports, delivers, and unloads propane to and from specified destinations.
- Inspects vehicle and notifies supervisor of needed equipment, supplies, or routine maintenance.
- Prepares and maintains records per regulations and company procedures.
- Operates the truck according to established safety procedures.
- Engages in daily interaction with customers and provides exceptional service.
- Assists with sales initiatives.
- Performs duties in on‑call rotation for after‑hours and weekend emergency deliveries.
- Ensures all DOT requirements are met at all times.
- May perform other duties as assigned, including yard and plant maintenance or dock work.
