Accounting Manager – Cambridge, MA (Hybrid)
Industry: Biotech & Life Sciences
An innovative life‑sciences company in Cambridge, MA is seeking an Accounting Manager to oversee accounting operations, mentor staff, and support financial reporting in a research‑driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee month‑end close and review journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statements.
- Manage accounting staff and workload prioritization.
- Support clinical trial accounting, grants, and research‑related cost tracking.
- Maintain internal controls and policy documentation.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
- Enhance systems and streamline processes as the company scales.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s in Accounting; CPA preferred.
- 5–7+ years of accounting experience, with at least 1–2 years of supervisory experience.
- Biotech, pharma, or life‑sciences experience strongly preferred.
- Strong GAAP knowledge and ability to adapt to a fast‑changing environment.
Work Model
- Hybrid: 3 days onsite in Cambridge.
