Main Responsibilities
- Provide technical advice on revenue recognition (out-licensing), mergers & acquisitions, divestments, alliances, collaboration agreements, R&D in-licensing arrangements, and lease agreements.
- Review accounting treatments for financial instruments proposed by Corporate Treasury.
- Review business transactions and agreements and assess Group accounting consequences based on facts and circumstances.
- Collaborate with Consolidations and Statutory Reporting on reporting and disclosure consequences of technical advice.
- Collaborate with Account to Report, Tax, and External Auditors on accounting consequences.
- Write and communicate formal accounting position papers and memos for internal stakeholders and external auditors.
- Interact with Internal Control to formalize accounting treatments; perform SOX requirements as needed.
- Assess preliminary impacts of new accounting and reporting pronouncements on existing and new contracts and initiatives.
- Provide input/examples for the Group accounting manual.
- Participate in global accounts committees to provide technical accounting expertise.
- Support Finance hard close by ensuring one-off complex transactions are documented and concluded timely.
- Bachelor’s degree (accredited four-year college/university) with specialization in Accounting.
- 7–10 years of job-related experience.
- CPA Certification.
- Management/supervision experience in a public accounting firm.
- Knowledge of US GAAP and IFRS required.
- Pharmaceutical industry knowledge is a plus.
- Excellent written and oral communication; strong organizational skills.
- Strong interpersonal leadership and team-building skills.
