Our client, a Management/Consulting firm in Cambridge, MA is seeking an experienced Accounting Supervisor (Senior Accountant level) to oversee day-to-day accounting operations within a collaborative, family-office-style environment. This is a highly visible role that partners closely with senior leadership and is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, supervising staff, managing payroll, and supporting the overall financial operations of multiple entities.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee daily accounting operations and maintain financial records in Quick Books
  • Manage month-end and year-end close processes, including account reconciliations and financial reporting
  • Process and oversee bi-weekly payroll through ADP Workforce Now
  • Support benefits administration, insurance renewals, and related payroll deductions
  • Manage banking activities, including cash management, ACH transactions, and wire transfers
  • Prepare internal financial reports and analyses for leadership
  • Supervise and mentor accounting staff
  • Maintain and improve accounting procedures and internal controls
  • Coordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, and other professional service providers
  • Partner cross-functionally to ensure timely and accurate financial information
  • Support compliance, reporting requirements, and special projects as needed
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 5+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a small to mid-sized business environment
  • Prior supervisory or management experience required
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and accounting best practices
  • Experience with Quick Books and ADP Workforce Now required
  • Advanced Excel skills preferred
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • High level of discretion and professionalism when handling confidential information
