Position: Tenant Coordinator (FY 2026)

Summary

The primary purpose of this position is to provide assistance and support to both central office staff as well as field staff. This is a per diem on call position without benefits and with a restriction of less than 30 hours a week. Individuals must be tenants of CHA or hold section 8 vouchers through CHA. They could perform moderate complex clerical work, involving a variety of clerical tasks such as typing, filing and answering telephones as well as various site related duties.

Responsibilities

& Duties
  • Types materials and correspondence from rough copy
  • Maintains filing system
  • Answers phones and helps to answer general inquiries on matters relating to the department or housing development
  • Operates a variety of office machines such as computer, typewriter, calculator, photocopier, etc.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned
  • Flyer Delivery – Delivers flyers/notices to residents as directed
  • Elevator Assistance – Give assistance to residents when elevators are out of service – Must be able to make multiple trips up flights of stairs.
  • Escort – Provide escort for unit inspectors and monitor activity
  • Packing Assistant – Assist residents with packing to move. This task would require the ability to lift 50 pounds.
  • Measuring Assistant – Provide assistance to project managers by taking notes and holding tape measure.
  • Open and close community room for meetings.
Qualifications

Applicants must be current tenants of CHA or currently hold a section 8 voucher through CHA.

Education and Experience

High School Diploma or equivalent and administrative/secretarial experience in an office environment preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Ability to speak another language other than English is a plus.

Technical Skills
  • Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office). Ability to learn other computer software programs may be required by assigned tasks.
  • Language proficiency:
    Spanish, Haitian Creole, Mandarin, Cantonese, Amharic, Russian, Portuguese (not required but useful).

Work Environment
