The provided pay range is an estimate for full‑time positions and will be prorated for part‑time roles. Actual pay is determined by factors such as responsibilities, experience, education, internal equity, and legal requirements. This range covers base pay only.

- Assists in soliciting and cultivating prospects, and coordinates proposals, memberships, presentations, events, meetings, initiatives, and administrative projects.
- Coordinates fundraising projects in consultation with MIT Museum and Resource Development colleagues.
- Provides administrative and project management support, including:
- Using Advance for prospect/donor tracking and management.
- Prospect research.
- Drafting correspondence, memos, proposals, and reports.
- Coordinates logistics for development events and meetings, and expedites follow‑up actions.
- Supports the organization and expansion of the Corporate Membership program, liaising with Corporate Membership regarding benefits, events, ticketing, and the Cambridge Science Carnival.
Required:
- High school education or equivalent.
- Minimum of three years of relevant experience in fundraising, development, communications, or marketing.
- Proficient with MS Office; comfortable learning new software.
- Knowledge of general office procedures.
- Ability to independently organize, prioritize, and execute detailed procedures, managing multiple projects and deadlines.
- Resourceful initiative and adaptability to evolving Museum priorities within a team environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with Museum staff, Institute leadership, and donors/prospects.
- Advanced writing, editing, and proofreading skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- High level of discretion in handling confidential information.
Preferred:
- Bachelor's degree.
- Enthusiasm for the MIT Museum mission and foundational knowledge of science and technology.
- Experience with CRM or donor databases (e.g., Hub Spot, Salesforce, Raiser's Edge).
- Familiarity with brand and message consistency.
This is a 1‑year term position with 45% effort (part‑time). This role is primarily in‑person on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays, with some flexibility for hybrid work.
