This part-time Development Assistant opportunity offers $25/hour for approximately 25 hours per week with a flexible schedule (ideally 5 hours per day, Monday through Friday). The role is onsite in Cambridge, MA at a nonprofit campus-based Jewish community organization focused on student engagement, education, and community building.
The position is expected to last 8+ weeks with potential for permanent full-time employment. Qualified candidates should be available to start quickly following a one-round video interview.
- Serve as administrative support for the development and fundraising department
- Communicate with students, alumni, families, donors, staff, and visitors
- Maintain and update spreadsheets, databases, and donor records
- Draft and send correspondence including emails, letters, and donor thank-you messages
- Assist with fundraising campaigns, events, and related administrative tasks
- Track donor information and coordinate follow-up outreach
- Support senior leadership with scheduling, expense reports, catering orders, and event setup
- Assist with various development and fundraising projects
- Strong administrative and organizational skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Experience with data entry, spreadsheets, and database management
- Ability to interact professionally with students, donors, and community members
- Interest in or comfort working within a Jewish community organization
- Prior experience with fundraising, development, donor relations, major gifts support, or nonprofit administration preferred but not required
- Experience working with students or in higher education environments is a plus
- Reliable transportation or ability to commute to Cambridge regularly
