Flare Therapeutics is seeking a highly motivated Summer Intern to join our Finance, Corporate Strategy and Business Development team.
This role offers a unique "seat at the table" to help shape the commercial and financial trajectory of a clinical-stage biotech. You will work directly with senior leadership to translate complex pipeline data into actionable strategic insights, supporting everything from investor relations to business development and financing activities.
Duration: 10-12 Weeks
Key Responsibilities
* Market Intelligence & Strategy:
Conduct comprehensive market opportunity assessments and competitive landscape mapping to define the commercial potential and strategic positioning of Flare Tx's drug discovery programs.
* Financial Modeling:
Develop sophisticated financial models that provide robust benchmarking and valuation analyses (e.g., NPV analyses, peak sales forecasts, and probability-weighted scenarios) to guide financing strategies and corporate decision-making.
* Executive Communication:
Synthesize intricate financial and market data into high-impact, executive-level presentations for the Board of Directors, senior leadership, and potential investors.
* Business Development Support:
Support BD initiatives through structured research, systematic potential partnership opportunity screening, and data-driven financial analyses.
* Deal Readiness:
Organize and maintain virtual data rooms (VDRs) and due diligence materials to support strategic discussions and financing rounds.
* Financial Planning:
Support the Finance organization with scenario planning, cash runway modeling, and ad-hoc strategic projects.
Candidate Profile
Education:
Currently pursuing BA/BS in a business and/or life sciences field with a strong interest in the business of biotech. Rising Junior or Senior preferred.
Analytical Rigor:
Strong proficiency in Excel-based financial modeling, including experience with DCF/NPV analyses, sensitivity tables, and scenario planning. Ability to leverage primary and secondary research sources to inform valuation assumptions.
Strategic Mindset:
Demonstrated ability to synthesize complex data into actionable insights and strategic recommendations. You don't just pull the data; you understand the "so what?" behind the numbers.
Communication:
Exceptional PowerPoint, data visualization and storytelling skills-you can turn a spreadsheet into a compelling narrative.
Agility:
Comfortable in a fast-paced, lean startup environment where priorities can shift rapidly.
