Job Description Summary

The Benefits Analyst 2 must have professional knowledge and several years of experience working with a wide variety of benefit plans and programs. Responsible for managing and administering all aspects of employee leave programs, including federal, state, and company‑specific policies. This role ensures compliance with applicable laws (FMLA, ADA, PFML, USERRA, Workers Compensation and state‑specific regulations) and provides expert guidance to employees and managers throughout the leave process.

Serves as a subject matter expert and escalation point for complex leave cases. Current compliance knowledge of state and federal legislation is required (i.e. ACA, ADA, COBRA, HIPAA, ERISA, FMLA, USERRA, etc.). Also must have knowledge of the administration of health, dental, vision, FSA accounts, life, AD&D, disability, retirement plans and other voluntary benefit programs.

Job Description Duties/Responsibilities
  • Manage end‑to‑end leave processes, including intake, eligibility determination, documentation, and return‑to‑work coordination.
  • Administer leaves under FMLA, PFML, ADA accommodations, short‑term disability (STD), long‑term disability (LTD), and other protected leaves.
  • Ensure accurate tracking and reporting of leave cases in applicable vendor systems, support timesheet entry and other data maintenance in HR Systems and ensure necessary information is provided to Payroll.
  • Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of federal, state, and local leave laws and ensure compliance.
  • Ensure benefit program compliance with benefit plan documents and summary plan descriptions. Partner with Legal and HR Partners to update policies and procedures as regulations change.
  • Provide consultation and serve as primary point of contact for employees and managers regarding leave options, timelines, and requirements.
  • Provide empathetic, timely and clear communication throughout the leave process.
  • Liaise with third‑party administrators for disability and PFML claims.
  • Coordinate with Payroll to ensure accurate pay continuation, deductions, and benefit premiums during leave.
  • Generate and analyze leave metrics to identify trends and recommend process improvements.
  • Handle escalated or sensitive cases, including ADA accommodations and overlapping leave entitlements. Collaborate with HRBP and Legal on complex scenarios.
  • Assist the Benefits Team with other tasks and projects as needed
Skills/Abilities
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Highly motivated and capable of solving problems independently, as well as work as a member of a team.
  • High proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook and MS Project), Workday and ADP
  • Knowledge and administration of a full range of benefit programs and related compliance (i.e. ACA, ADA, COBRA, ERISA, FMLA, Health Care Reform, HIPAA, USERRA, etc.)
  • Ability to research and confirm that benefit programs comply with state/federal regulations.
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent accuracy, organizational skills and attention to detail — Ability to prioritize and organize work to meet multiple deadlines.

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
