The Xiao Wang group at the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard is looking for an exceptional and energetic Operations Specialist to join a rapidly growing multidisciplinary group. The Lab focuses on developing and applying state‑of‑the‑art chemical and genomic analysis tools to chart cellular RNAs from birth to death and understand how the RNA life cycle is shaped and regulated in time and space to serve biological functions.
This person will handle all administrative operations for Dr. Xiao Wang, including schedule and travel management, as well as oversight of the lab’s daily operations, including budget and project management. This role requires onsite presence 4‑5 days per week.

Qualifications- College degree and 3+ years of experience
- Self‑motivated, fast learner, and proactive in identifying problems
- Strong communication skills and independence
- Adaptable and flexible with fast‑changing priorities
- Expertise in calendar and travel management
- Ability to handle confidential information
- Basic knowledge of budget management
- Project management
- Experience working in an academic lab environment
- Experience with academic and scientific writing and file management (grants, news, and letters)
- Calendar management
- Travel management
- Catering & event coordination
- Onboarding & off‑boarding lab members
- Management of affiliate appointments
- Collaboration with grants administration team for monitoring of projects
- Collaboration across various departments for special projects
