Summary
Supervisor, Clinical Engineering leads clinical engineering initiatives to provide superior customer service and operational efficiency by managing the execution of the TRIMEDX Medical Equipment Management Plan. This position assists the Clinical Engineering Manager with all aspects of program management, including work history data analysis, staffing allocation, budget control, equipment acquisition planning and outside vendor management.
Responsibilities- Leadership: Apply knowledge and experience of technology and equipment to oversee site operations and provide direction. Motivate staff through praise, recognition, and rewards. Staff and schedule technicians, conduct performance evaluations and coaching, mentor colleagues, and participate in hiring. Build and maintain customer relationships and influence change through recommendations.
- Operations Management: Manage service operations, contract administration, demand documentation, inventory control, and database accuracy. Provide metrics and continuous improvement recommendations. Perform Joint Commission inspections, manage open work orders, and monitor site KPIs. Support continuous improvement initiatives and work with leadership to implement corrective actions.
- Account Management & Development: Collaborate with customers and vendors for win‑win solutions. Monitor modality performance, participate in department meetings, advise users on equipment status, recommend contracts, and serve on hospital committees. Manage workload, maintenance leveling, vendor requests, and customer issues to ensure satisfaction.
- General Duties: Supervise multiple sites with ≤$3M revenue, manage budgets and expenses, support upper management, and spend 25% of time performing technician work. Possible travel based on business needs.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience with biomedical equipment in a clinical engineering environment or equivalent.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
- Day‑to‑day and long‑term site operations management.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and time‑management skills.
- Lead, motivate, and develop others.
- Financial analysis skills—budgeting, revenue and cost calculations.
- Knowledge of state and federal inspection agencies such as TJC, CAP, DNV.
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Prior management experience preferred, especially as Manager, Assistant Site Manager, or Senior Technician.
- People‑management and task completion per SOP.
- Associate degree or equivalent experience required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Electronics–related technical discipline or equivalent military training preferred.
- Technical certifications such as A+, CBET, CRES, CLES, or CCE preferred.
