Interim Commercial Manager pd

Client: Major Public Sector organisation

Lead the commercial delivery of a major, high-value, public sector procurement. We're seeking an experienced Commercial Manager or Commercial Officer to join a high-performing commercial team delivering a strategically important procurement programme. This is an opportunity to take ownership of a complex £100m-£200m procurement, supporting the transition from an existing long-term outsourced service arrangement to a new competitive contract.

Working closely with project and commercial teams, you'll be responsible for delivering the commercial workstream across the full procurement lifecycle, including:

• Drafting contracts, terms and conditions, and tender documentation
• Developing commercial strategies, negotiation plans and procurement approaches
• Producing and tailoring contract documentation using established government contract models
• Managing end-to-end competitive procurement activity
• Leading supplier engagement, tender evaluation and commercial negotiations
• Providing commercial advice and supporting governance and approval processes
• Working collaboratively with a broad range of internal stakeholders to deliver successful commercial outcomes
• Note: Due to the sensitive nature of this role, candidates will be required to hold or gain and maintain the necessary level of Security Clearance.

We're looking for commercial professionals who can demonstrate:

• 5+ years' commercial procurement experience
• Experience leading complex procurements from strategy through to contract award
• Strong contract drafting and commercial documentation experience
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
• Experience with large-scale service management or infrastructure contracts
• Public sector procurement experience is highly desirable
• Experience transitioning or recompeting outsourced service contracts would be a distinct advantage
