Estimator, Construction, Civil Engineering

Metric is partnered with a leading heavy civil contractor seeking an experienced Estimator to join their preconstruction team. This is an excellent opportunity for an estimator with a strong background in heavy civil, infrastructure, transportation, utilities, or other large-scale construction projects.

• Prepare detailed estimates, quantity take-offs, and bid proposals.
• Review drawings, specifications, scopes, and contract documents.
• Develop accurate pricing for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractors.
• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations.
• Work closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, and Operations teams.
• Identify project risks, exclusions, and potential cost savings.
• Assist with bid strategy, value engineering, and proposal development.
• Participate in pre-bid meetings, site walks, and client meetings.

• 3+ years of estimating experience within heavy civil construction.
• Strong understanding of construction means, methods, and sequencing.
• Experience with infrastructure, highways, bridges, utilities, marine, or other heavy civil projects preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and estimating software.
• Excellent communication, organization, and analytical skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred.
