Job DescriptionPosition:
Instructional Aide (7 hours per day / 10 months) at Graham & Parks School.
Graham and Parks serves a diverse population of students and families from 36 different countries, speaking 26 different languages.
The mission of Graham and Parks Alternative Public School is to educate the whole child, fostering a child‑centered learning environment that encourages curiosity and focused inquiry.
We are seeking an instructional aide to support instruction in an elementary classroom, with additional duties such as recess, lunch coverage, and bus duty. The Instructional Aide will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to support students across educational settings.
Key Responsibilities- Work with a multidisciplinary team to enhance the educational, emotional, and behavioral development of students.
- Provide support in reading/literacy, math, written language, and social‑emotional behavior (with guidance).
- Collaborate with general education and special education staff.
- Support formal and informal assessments as directed by teaching staff.
- Accommodate and modify for student learning and support the general education teacher with the implementation of appropriate accommodations in the general education setting.
- Perform toileting duties for students as required of a paraprofessional in Cambridge Public Schools.
- Other related duties as assigned.
As the incoming Instructional Aide, you will possess many, though perhaps not all, of the following characteristics and qualifications:
- A commitment to ensuring that students have access to high‑quality instructional and social‑emotional support.
- Above average skills in collaboration and flexible problem‑solving.
- Demonstrated ability to problem‑solve.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university preferred.
- Experience with children in an urban environment.
