The Opportunity
Lesley University always welcomes applications for adjunct faculty to teach upcoming daytime or evening classes for our areas in Psychology+ at the undergraduate level. Subject areas in this department include courses on Art Therapy, Counseling, Expressive Arts Therapy, General Psychology, and Holistic Psychology. Classes in this department are either taught in-person or remote depending on the specific course.
Since adjunct faculty positions are ongoing, evergreen positions, your materials will remain on file and will be reviewed on an as-needed basis throughout the upcoming semesters. By submitting your application, you will be put into consideration for current and future adjunct positions within the undergraduate Psychology+ subject area. We hire adjunct faculty on a regular cadence to support our Fall, Spring, and Summer semesters.
The specific course hired for is subject to change depending on semester, course catalog, and department needs.
About Mental Health & Wellbeing
Our programs in Mental Health & Well-Being start with undergraduate degrees in Psychology+, our unique multidisciplinary psychology program that includes specializations and dual degrees, ranging from Holistic Psychology to Expressive Arts Therapy. Our Master's degrees in Counseling & Psychology include specializations in School and Community, Holistic Studies, and Trauma Studies as well as Expressive Therapies where Lesley is one of the few universities offering all five modalities:
Art, Dance, Drama, Music, and Expressive Arts.
In our Ph.D. program, students work closely with their faculty advisor to choose their dissertation topic, after engaging in rigorous coursework, as part of a cohort of passionate, creative scholars. Our programs also include both undergraduate and graduate programs in Social Work, and a unique master's in Mindfulness Studies, where students are at the forefront of bringing this discipline into many professional and personal pursuits.
Qualities & Capabilities
Required:
- Master's degree in Art Therapy, Counseling, Expressive Arts Therapy, Psychology or related field
- For Applied Mental Health courses, a license or license eligibility in Mental Health, Social Work, or relevant field
- Experience in constructivist, inquiry-based learning with an emphasis on student engagement
- PhD in Art Therapy, Counseling, Expressive Arts Therapy, Psychology or related field
- Demonstrated successful experience teaching in the particular discipline at the undergraduate level
