Job DescriptionPosition:
Extended Term Substitute, K‑5 Health Education Teacher, FMA and King (Available September 2025 through December 2025).
Teacher will report to the Coordinator of Health, Physical Education, and Wellness and the Lead Teacher for JK‑5 Health and Wellness. Responsibilities include teaching health education according to the National Health Education Standards, the Social Justice Standards, the CASEL frameworks, and the National Sexuality Education Standards, providing direct classroom instruction, and leading or co‑leading the coordinated school health team to support SEL initiatives.
The teacher will also participate in ongoing collaborative work groups to address health disparities.

Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree required;
Master’s degree preferred. - Experience and/or education in elementary health education, elementary education, and/or social/emotional learning.
- Teaching experience in a diverse urban setting preferred.
- Massachusetts Certification in K‑12 Health/Family Consumer Science.
- Commitment to the department’s values and continuous growth toward antiracist and anti‑bias education.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to maintain collaborative relationships with diverse staff, caregivers, and community partners.
- Love for children and desire to work with elementary‑aged students.
- Citizenship, residency or work visa required.
