Health, Physical Education, and Wellness Department Overview:
Cambridge Public School's Health, Physical Education, and Wellness Department is dedicated to creating supportive learning spaces where all students are known, celebrated, empowered, and thrive. Students receive relevant learning opportunities that develop the skills, knowledge, and attitudes necessary to be healthy and physically active. These experiences support students to be engaged in exploring, creating, and advocating for meaningful changes at the individual and societal level.

We are seeking a Physical Education teacher to join our caring and innovative community. The successful candidate will have experience in planning and implementing Physical Education instruction in accordance with the Massachusetts Health Curriculum Framework and the SHAPE America Physical Education Standards. The candidate will teach the Cambridge Public Schools Physical Education curriculum with skill and fidelity, support collegial spirit, continue professional growth, and commit to continuous learning, improvement, reflection, and ensuring that all students achieve at high levels.

• Bachelor's degree required;
  Master's degree preferred.
• Experience and/or education in physical education.
• Massachusetts Certification in PreK-8 Physical Education.
• Awareness of developmental needs of elementary and adolescent learners and strategies to meet those needs through the curriculum.
• Strong classroom management skills.
• Experience working in a multicultural environment and demonstrated implementation of culturally responsive practices for students from diverse ethnic, cultural, and socio-economic backgrounds.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and ability to establish and maintain effective collaborative relationships with diverse staff and students.
• A strong work ethic and commitment to doing whatever it takes for students to excel.
• Preferred:
  High levels of native language proficiency in Spanish (listening, speaking, reading, grammar, writing).
