Position Overview

Part‑time Lecturer/Mentor (MIT Sloan School of Management). Appointment effective September 1 2026.

Location:

100 Main Street, Cambridge, Massachusetts, 02142.

Salary: $2,700 per four‑person team per academic term.

Responsibilities
  • Enhance graduate students’ academic experience by collaborating with MIT Sloan GEM faculty.
  • Advance learning through project‑based or “lab” courses.
  • Serve as a mentor or team coach, advising students and their teams; assist them in real‑world business problems for host companies.
  • Share business subject‑matter expertise and prior work experience, including international engagement when appropriate.
  • Help teams navigate interpersonal and team dynamics.
  • Collaborate with the Action Learning Office to advance learning efforts.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 10 years of supervisory experience.
  • Expertise in strategic management consulting, human resources management, entrepreneurship, organizational design, technology, or supply‑chain management.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a matrixed environment with a broad range of internal and external constituents.
  • Experience in higher education or successful teaching with a diverse, multicultural student population (highly desirable).
  • Willingness to work some evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Familiarity with MIT Sloan faculty and/or MIT faculty is helpful.
  • Relevant formal education is preferred.

The GEM Group includes faculty with interests in international economics, political economy, economic history, and international management and business. It is part of the Behavioral and Policy Sciences Area, one of three major research areas at MIT Sloan.
