Job DescriptionWe are seeking an English Language Arts Teacher for Grade 9 to join our learning community. The position will be from October 2026 to January 2027.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with all team members, including but not limited to special educators, instructional coaches, paraprofessionals, interventionists, and other support personnel.
- Assess students regularly and refine and differentiate classroom instruction based on assessment data and student needs.
- Integrate social learning into the classroom and foster a safe, caring, and active learning community.
- Partner with families and include them in the students’ learning and development, encouraging families to further the mission of the school.
- Build on established partnerships with surrounding community institutions and organizations.
- Establish a culture of high expectations that includes the shared belief that every student will pursue a dignified next step.
- Develop and implement lesson plans and classroom activities aligned with Massachusetts State Standards and CRLS Instructional Guidelines.
- Communicate regularly with students and families and involve families as partners in their child’s education.
- Identify unique student needs and collaborate with team members to effectively address those needs and improve instructional practices throughout the school.
- Two or more years of English Language Arts teaching experience with a proven track record of high achievement in the classroom.
- Strong classroom management skills.
- Experience leading instruction in urban school settings.
- Strong knowledge of Common Core/MA Curriculum Framework for English Language Arts.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, alongside the ability to establish and maintain effective and collaborative working relationships with a diverse staff and student body.
- Bachelor’s degree required;
Master’s degree strongly preferred. - Massachusetts Teacher Certification in 9-12 English Language Arts.
- A strong work ethic, alongside a commitment to doing whatever it takes for students to excel.
