About the position: Shady Hill School is seeking an Interim Assistant Director of Auxiliary Programs to join our team from August 17, 2026 - December 19, 2026
. With the Director, the Interim Assistant Director of Auxiliary Programs will support daily Auxiliary Programs operations including planning and organization of logistics for the Lunch Program, After school, Study Hall, Music Lessons, Enrichments, Fun Camps, Childcare events, and support staff with daily trouble-shooting and student needs. The successful candidate will be organized, proactive, calm under pressure and enjoy cultivating a warm and welcoming environment for students and families.
The hours are generally 9:15am - 5:45pm, Monday
- Friday
, with a half-hour lunch break. This is a temporary full-time, exempt (salaried), in-person position. Based on the duration of the assignment, this position is eligible for benefits including school sponsored insurance.
- Support daily student logistics using systems such as School Pass, and Google Suite, including attendance tracking, dismissal coordination, and schedule changes
- Monitor and support program-wide communication through radios (walkies) to ensure smooth coordination across spaces
- Assist in managing daily schedules, transitions, and coverage needs across Auxiliary Programs
- Support the daily operation of program spaces, ensuring readiness, organization, and responsiveness to changing needs
- Provide ongoing, real-time support to Auxiliary staff, helping problem-solve challenges and maintain a positive program culture
- Support and help facilitate team meetings and daily check-ins, ensuring clear communication and alignment
- Collaborate with the Director to reinforce expectations, routines, and program-wide systems
- Serve as a consistent, visible presence across program spaces to support staff and students
- Assist staff in addressing student behavior and social-emotional needs, helping guide appropriate responses and strategies
- Provide additional support for escalated behavioral situations, ensuring student safety and dignity
- Help maintain a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment for all students
- Support the daily student lunch and Auxiliary snack programs, including coordination, distribution, and troubleshooting
- Coordination & Documentation:
Coordinate and compile photo documentation for sharing with families and internal use - Support clear, consistent communication with staff, families, and school offices as needed
Position Type: Full-time
Salary: $67,000 to $77,000 Per Year
Job Requirements Qualifications- Prior experience working in a school or summer camp setting required
- Prior operations or coordinator experience preferred, preferably in a school or non-profit setting
- Experience with Google suite preferred
