As a Physical Education and Health & Wellness Teacher at Prospect Hill Academy Middle School, your role is to support students in making healthy life choices. You will develop, implement, and assess engaging, inclusive, and developmentally appropriate physical education and wellness curricula that meet state standards and students’ individual needs.
Responsibilities- Develop and implement engaging Physical Education units that promote safe, inclusive, and healthy physical activities for all students.
- Deliver Health & Wellness curriculum in a supportive, developmentally appropriate manner.
- Differentiated instruction to meet the academic and physical needs of all learners.
- Collaborate with Middle School faculty and staff, support school‑wide initiatives, and participate in professional development.
- Examine personal biases and systemic inequities to promote anti‑racist teaching practices.
- Maintain a positive, inclusive classroom environment that meets high expectations for achievement and growth.
- Design, select, and use materials and resources that stimulate student learning and safety.
- Adapt instruction and assessments for students with IEPs and 504 plans.
- Bachelor’s degree required;
Master’s preferred. - MA licensure in Physical Education or related field preferred, or working toward licensure.
- Knowledge of Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks.
- Commitment to the school’s mission and values, including equity, diversity, and inclusion.
- Experience working with students from diverse backgrounds, including BIPOC, ELL, and students with special education needs.
- Strong organizational, communication, and collaboration skills.
