Job Description

We are offering an opportunity for an Instructional Designer to join our team in the education sector. Based in Western Massachusetts, United States, this role involves designing and implementing learning programs, utilizing a variety of tools and platforms, including Learning Management Systems and Canvas, to enhance the educational experience. This role offers a long-term contract employment opportunity.

Responsibilities
  • Design and develop instructional material for training courses that support technical learning
  • Demonstrate and utilize effective needs analysis, project management, course development, and evaluation skills
  • Apply tested instructional design theories, practice and methods
  • Provide exercises and activities that enhance the learning process
  • Create supporting material/media (audio, video, simulations, role plays, games etc)
  • Devise modes of assessment, such as tests or quizzes, to measure the effectiveness of the course
  • Maintain project documentation and course folders
  • Implement feedback from program reviews and improve learning materials accordingly
  • Collaborate with other educators to improve learning outcomes and meet objectives
Qualifications
  • Possession of a minimum of three years of experience in instructional design or a related field
  • Proficiency in Computer Programs related to instructional design
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems and Canvas
  • Demonstrated skills in Microsoft Excel
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
  • Strong customer service skills and the ability to work with diverse groups of people
  • Experience with and understanding of management systems
  • Ability to design, develop, and implement instructional materials
  • Proven ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team setting
  • Commitment to continuous learning and improvement in the field of instructional design
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with varying levels of complexity simultaneously
