About the Role
Under the direction of the Director of After Schools, the After school Site Coordinator manages the day‑to‑day operations of the after school program at the assigned site (Cambridge or Newton). The Coordinator ensures a safe, engaging, and well‑run program for children and families while supervising staff, maintaining compliance, and serving as the primary on‑site leader.
Responsibilities- Manage daily program operations, including schedules, staffing coverage, attendance and transitions.
- Ensure appropriate staff‑to‑child ratios and compliance with safety procedures.
- Serve as the on‑site decision maker during program hours.
- Coordinate supplies, space setup, and cleanliness in partnership with facilities or EC agreements.
- Implement curriculum and enrichment plans in alignment with program standards.
- Support educators in classroom management and behavior guidance.
- Communicate regularly with families about schedules, programming and child experiences; address parent questions and concerns.
- Maintain required licensing documentation, daily records and participate in licensing visits and internal audits.
- Communicate and collaborate with the Director of After school Programs regarding staffing, enrollment and program needs; report and resolve issues promptly.
- Lead daily check‑ins, staff communication and training of new staff; conduct performance evaluations and professional development.
- Model and uphold JCC policies, procedures and core values.
- Bachelor’s degree required; a degree strongly preferred.
- 2‑4 years of experience in after school, camp or youth programming, including supervising staff.
- Strong computer skills:
Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and social media literacy. - Strong interpersonal, organizational and problem‑solving skills; capacity to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
- Excellent communication and relationship‑building abilities with diverse families and stakeholders.
- Physical ability to lift 30‑40 pounds, bend, kneel and stand for extended periods; able to work in a busy, sometimes noisy environment.
- Commitment to ADA and the ability to adapt the role to reasonable accommodations when possible.
- Must be self‑starter, collaborative, and dedicate to professional growth and service excellence.
- Competitive salary: $57,120 – $59,000 annually.
